PGG Wrightson Seeds also operates a commodity export business from Keith, South Australia.

Wrightson Seeds is a leading forage seed business in Australia and has been involved with seed production, distribution and marketing since 1938.

Wrightson Seeds introduced the first proprietary cultivars into Australia in 1987, and has led the development of improved pasture plant genetics in this country.

Agricom offers a range of temperate pasture species of grasses, clovers, herbs and brassicas.

In-field technical advice is provided by the Agricom territory managers assisted by product development field managers within Australia and NZ. Agricom is a seed wholesaler closely aligned with its distributors AusWest Seeds, Stephen Pasture Seeds, Smyth Seeds, Roberts and Irwin Hunter. PGG Wrightson Turf has been breeding turfgrass seed specifically for the Australasian environment for over 30 years and has established itself as an innovative market leader in turfgrass breeding, and turf research and evaluation. PGG Wrightson Turfs aim is to supply Australasian Turf Managers with high performance turfgrass solutions for the unique challenges faced by the Australasian turf industry.

PGG Wrightson Turf has invested heavily into the Australian sports turf industry and built a strong technical sales team that is backed by the scientific research group who ensure the right selection for the customers specific requirements. PGG Wrightson Turf seed is used at major stadiums across Australia including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Suncorp Stadium and Etihad Stadium. The turf business is also increasingly active in the hydroseeding market helping with large scale revegetation projects in many areas.

The turf sector is where many of our latest R&D break-throughs are showcased. An example is Avanex™, a specialist grass designed to deter birds – a feature that is used at airports and public areas.

Every year PGG Wrightson Seeds exports thousands of tonnes of small seeds (primarly lucerne, sub clover, and tropical varieties) and pulses (lentils, broad beans, faba beans) to destinations throughout the Middle East, the United States, Europe and Asia. With a substantial production base in the main seed and pulse production areas of South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and NSW, PGG Wrightson Seeds has access to thousands of hectares of farmland.
